SBCT’s 2012 Summer Camps will be HOT – Register Now!
South Bend Civic Theatre will hold summer camps giving students opportunities to have fun and explore theatre with experienced instructors. Kids K-3rd grades have week long, half day camps getting creative with jungle creatures, monsters, and the deep blue sea. 4th-6th graders can acquire special skills with workshops in tap, improv and even make their own commercials. 7th-12th grade workshops include improv, acting for the camera, and an introduction to Shakespearean acting culminating in an opportunity to see this years performance by the Young Company at Notre Dame.
In addition, older students will put their talent to the test with 2 week performance camps, culminating in full productions with an invited audience!! 4th to 6th graders will perform Disney’s Aladdin Kids and 7th-12th grade students will perform FAME Jr.
Numerous studies have shown the importance of arts education in giving students skills needed for successful development. At South Bend Civic Theatre, we are committed to giving young people top flight theatre classes designed to teach these skills while learning abilities that will serve them in all walks of life and having fun do it! From confidence in public speaking, to creative problem solving, and from gaining discipline to learning to work with other on projects, theatre does more than entertain!
Camps will begin the week of June 11, 2012. To register, call the box office at 574-234-1112 or sign-up online (please note: there is an additional transaction fee for online registrations).
10% discounts will be given for registering for a second class during the session and for registering more than one child.
