Position Announcement

Executive Director

South Bend Civic Theatre, one of the thirty-five (35) largest community theatres in the United States, with an annual operating budget of approximately $800,000, seeks applicants for the position of Executive Director, who will build on the Theatre’s proud history of “Making a Dramatic Difference” in the north-central Indiana region.

The Theatre currently stages fifteen (15) productions annually in its multiple-venue state of the art facility, which underwent a $4,000,000 renovation in 2006. In addition to its regular production schedule, SBCT recently expanded its Theatre for Young Audiences program to include year-round education, outreach and touring activities.

The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated passion for community theatre, outstanding leadership skills, collaboration skills, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

• Financial management with balance sheet responsibility.
• Leading and motivating a staff of eleven (11).
• Presenting the “public face” of the Theatre.
• Developing and coordinating marketing plans.
• Annual and long term financial support for the Theatre in conjunction with the Director of Development.
• Shaping and overseeing the artistic mission of the Theatre
• Working successfully with 750+ dedicated volunteer actors, directors, technicians, etc.
