SBCT will kick off the 2012 ArtsEverywhere Performing Arts Series at Potawatomi’s Chris Wilson Pavilion on July 21. In addition to castmembers performing songs from the upcoming musical “Into the Woods,” students will be performing songs from the Kids4Kids productions “Flat Stanley, Jr” and the upcoming “All Shook Up” as well as ShakeScenes.
About the ArtsEverywhere Performing Arts Series:
For the third year, the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County will present the award-winning ArtsEverywhere Performing Arts Series in the Chris Wilson Pavilion at South Bend’s Potawatomi Park. This six-event free series begins on July 21, 2012 and runs on consecutive Saturdays through August 25, 2012. The events include:
July 21 - Members of the South Bend Civic Theatre perform an evening of musical hits, including songs from their upcoming show “Into the Woods” (Rain location: South Bend Civic Theatre, 403 N Main St)
July 28 - Indiana University South Bend’s Raclin School of the Arts performs Johnny Appleseed, a play for children (Rain location: IUSB’s Campus Auditorium in Northside Hall)
August 4 - The University of Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival’s Young Company presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Rain location: IUSB’s Campus Auditorium in Northside Hall)
August 11 - Southold Dance Theater presents an evening of dance, featuring two guest artists and some of the company’s top students (Rain location: IUSB’s Campus Auditorium in Northside Hall)
August 18 - An evening of jazz, featuring New West Guitar Group from California, one of whose members—John Storie—was a former student of Chris Wilson (Rain location: IUSB’s Campus Auditorium in Northside Hall)
August 25 - The South Bend Symphony Orchestra will perform, providing a great opportunity to hear its musicians in the open air (Rain location: Adams High School Main Auditorium)
All events are free and open to the public, and will begin at 7 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Fiddler’s Hearth will offer food and drinks for purchase at each event. All events will be professionally amplified and lit by EventSys.
