“My wife and I attended the February 1 presentation of the “Man of LaMancha” and we must say that it was excellent. The theatre is beautiful, the sound was perfect, the cast members were very believable, and the orchestra was super, not too soft and not too loud. We will be attending future shows. Thank you for a super evening.” —Gordon and Christine Holley

“Congratulations and a big thank you to all the staff and performers of the South Bend Civic Theatre on their recent production of “Man of LaMancha” in their exquisite new theatre, the former Scottish Rite Building.

While the theatre is larger than the former Firehouse on Portage Avenue, it still retains that warm intamacy, but is enhanced with comfortable seating and wonderful lighting and sound.

On Jan. 21 the theatre opened its doors to a full house of Red Hat Ladies for a special and delightful tea-time lunch. This was followed by excellent entertainment with “Man of LaMancha” especially for its Red Hat audience.

Theatre staff are to be congratulated for providing a much needed gathering place for ladies to enjoy ‘tea time’ and first-class theatre in South Bend. They went the extra mile to ensure that all the ladies had an enjoyable day.

The show was terrific. Everyone in the large cast did a wonderful job and the singing and accompanying live music was wonderful. I have seen this same show twice in Chicago and once in Indianapolis, but I believe this was the best yet — and by our own home-grown theatre.” —June Bourdon
